Alison Maria Krauss, born on July 23, 1971, is an American singer and musician. As a teenager, she began her journey into the music scene, having won local contests as early as 10 years old, and recorded her first album when she was 14 years old. When she was 14, she released her first solo album, after joining Rounder Records. After that, she was asked to be a part of Alison Krauss Union Station, the band she currently performs with. Her first album in a group with this band came out in the year 1989.
