One of her personal highlights was getting selected to be part of Snoop in the YouTube Brandcast, in May 2013, and writing songs, despite the turbulence over the last few years. Now a magnet for up-and-coming artists, she is constantly looking over beats she receives and finds that many result in sparking ideas for songs. Within five seconds, I know what a song is or not. Then I get an idea for an original song, and start writing it immediately. I sit on my backyard with my guitar, and then the lyrics are just a matter of time and typically it's completed in less than 30 minutes. Niykee says that when she grows as a lyricist her painful memories from her childhood are an inspiration. My experience of pain as a child as a child as well as that of losing my sibling is still reflected in my lyrics, even when they are not literally. It influences my music and gives it a deeper sense of meaning that I believe is crucial. I would like to be able to hear my music 20 years from now and feel proud of what I have to say.
